The aim of this seminar is to assist employers seeking to benchmark and review their main attendance and absence management practices against best practice equality indicators.

This is the fifth in a series of 5 short best practice seminars designed to assist Voluntary & Community Sector employers to benchmark their current employment practice against recommended equality best practice.
- The key elements of the anti-discrimination legislation relating to attendance & absence.
- Best practice equality indicators outlined in Chapter 13 (Pregnancy, Maternity & Adoption Rights) and Chapter 17 (Managing Absence) of the Unified Guide to Promoting Equality of Opportunity in Employment.
- Best practice guidance set out in the Disability Code of Practice (Employment & Occupation) in relation the duty to make reasonable adjustments for disabled employees.
- Signposting to additional relevant guidance & support including the Equality Commission’s short guide on Pregnancy & Maternity.
- Factors to consider in relation to individual equality grounds.
Participants will also receive one to one follow-up assistance with specific policy development as required.
