The aim of this seminar is to assist Voluntary & Community Sector employers seeking to benchmark and review their main flexible working practices against best practice equality indicators.
This is the fourth in a series of 5 short best practice seminars designed to assist Voluntary & Community Sector employers to benchmark their current employment practice against recommended equality best practice.
Learning Objectives: By the end of the seminar participants should have had an opportunity to consider:
- The key elements of the anti-discrimination legislation relating to flexible working and reasonable adjustments in the workplace.
- Best practice equality indicators in relation to flexible working arrangements as outlined in Chapters 14 of the Unified Guide to Promoting Equality of Opportunity in Employment.
- Best practice guidance set out in the Disability Code of Practice (Employment & Occupation) in relation the duty to make reasonable adjustments for disabled employees.
- Signposting to additional relevant guidance & support including the Equality Commission’s short guide on Flexible Working.
- Factors to consider in relation to individual equality grounds.
Participants will also receive one to one follow-up assistance with specific policy development as required.
