The aim of this seminar is to assist Voluntary & Community Sector employers seeking to benchmark and review their main flexible working practices against best practice equality indicators.

This is the fourth in a series of 5 short best practice seminars designed to assist Voluntary & Community Sector employers to benchmark their current employment practice against recommended equality best practice.

Learning ObjectivesBy the end of the seminar participants should have had an opportunity to consider:

  1. The key elements of the anti-discrimination legislation relating to flexible working and reasonable adjustments in the workplace.
  2. Best practice equality indicators in relation to flexible working arrangements as outlined in Chapters 14 of the Unified Guide to Promoting Equality of Opportunity in Employment.      
  3. Best practice guidance set out in the Disability Code of Practice (Employment & Occupation) in relation the duty to make reasonable adjustments      for disabled employees.  
  4. Signposting to additional relevant guidance & support including the Equality Commission’s short guide on Flexible Working.
  5. Factors to consider in relation to individual equality grounds.

Participants will also receive one to one follow-up assistance with specific policy development as required.
