The aim of the seminar is to assist Voluntary & Community Sector employers to benchmark and review their main employment terms & condition practices against best practice equality indicators.
This is the third in a series of 5 short best practice seminars designed to assist Voluntary & Community Sector employers to benchmark their current employment practice against recommended equality best practice.
Learning Objectives: By the end of the seminar participants should have had an opportunity to consider:
- The key elements of the anti-discrimination legislation relating to the area of employment terms and conditions.
- Best practice equality indicators outlined in Chapters 11, 15, 16 and 18 of the Unified Guide to Promoting Equality of Opportunity in Employment. Themes explored include Pay & Benefits; Training & Development; Grievance & Discipline; Termination of Employment.
- Signposting to additional relevant guidance documents & support including the Equality Commission’s Equal Pay Review Kit.
- Factors to consider in relation to individual equality grounds.
Participants will also receive one to one follow-up assistance with specific policy development as required.
