COMMUNICATING INTERFACE CO-OPERATION

Communications professional, Bernard Conlon (InforStructure and InforCulture Forum) will look at the role of communications within the community sector. Joining Bernard on the panel will be Chris O’Halloran of the Belfast Interface Project and representatives of the Suffolk Lenadoon Interface Group (SLIG). While “embedded” as a Communications Officer with SLIG Bernard made a trilogy of short films in conjunction with Northern Visions. The role and  value of communications in a grass-roots context, interface issues and SLIG’s response to the films will be discussed. The main film told the story of SLIG’s innovative cross-community youth-work training scheme, which bridged what was one of Belfast’s most notorious interfaces.
