TAKE A BREAK FOR HOSPICE

Northern Ireland Hospice is calling on people, businesses, schools and organisations from across the province to 'TAKE A COFFEE BREAK' this September in aid of raising vital funds for Hospice Care.

Northern Ireland Hospice has launched its annual coffee morning with U105.8 FM presenter Carolyn Stewart.  The local DJ took time out recently from her radio show to encourage local people and businesses across the province to take a coffee break in aid of Northern Ireland Hospice.  On Thursday 20th September, thousands of people will enjoy a cup of coffee, as part ofIreland’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Hospice.

Taking part could not be easier and everyone who registers a coffee party with Northern Ireland Hospice will receive everything they need to host the perfect party including a complimentary supply of Bewley’s coffee!   All you will need to do is brew the coffee, invite some friends and collect a £2 donation for every cup poured.

Supporting the campaign, and encouraging everyone to make this year the biggest ever, popular U105.8 FM radio DJ Carolyn Stewart said,

“2012 is a landmark year of celebration, and with this being the 20th Anniversary of Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Hospice, let’s make sure it is the biggest and best yet!  I am delighted to be part of this fundraising event and can think of nothing better than taking time out of a busy schedule to enjoy a cup of coffee with friends whilst helping to raise vital funds for local hospice care.  I would encourage everyone to do the same.  It is amazing that something as simple and as easy as hosting a coffee party can make such a big difference to the lives of those in need of care.”

The target for the 2012 Coffee Morning is £67,000 which is needed to ensure that Hospice continues to provide its vital services to local people and their families who heavily depend on Hospice services. Care is provided in Somerton house and also in homes throughoutNorthern Ireland.

Every cup of coffee poured will mean two pounds has been raised for Hospice and every pound will make a big difference says NI Hospice Events Fundraiser Lynn Boyce,

‘‘We recognise that carer’s looking after a loved one who is terminally ill need for too; that’s why this year we are encouraging everyone to host a coffee party for Hospice, weather it be at home, work, school or at your local club or organisation.  With your support, we can provide specialist Hospice at Home nurses who can allow families and carers a rest knowing their loved one is in safe hands.  This means more patients are able to remain in the comfort of their own home surrounded by family.  So, go on, pop the kettle on and have a Bewley’s Coffee for Hospice this September.’’

Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Hospice will be held on Thursday 20th September, but if this date doesn’t suit you can hold your coffee party any time in September or October and if coffee isn’t your thing then why not hold a tea party or a juice party instead!
