Board effectiveness and evaluation - reviewing the performance of the board
NICVA
With an increasing emphasis on the importance of good governance, more boards of charities are dedicating time to examine how effective their boards actually are.
NICVA is delighted to host a training session which will be delivered by Louise Thomson, Head of Policy at ICSA: The Governance Institute, who will be explaining what is involved with board evaluation.
This session is specifically designed for boards who are contemplating or embarking on a process for evaluating the effectiveness of their boards. The training will include:
- Why carry out board evaluation
- How to carry it out
- Pros and cons of internal versus external facilitation
- Various methods of board evaluation
- Practical tools for board evaluation
This training has been arranged in the late afternoon/early evening to allow trustees who both work during the day and who have families to get home to. The session will begin at 4.30pm with registration and refreshments available from 4.15pm.
