Pilates Matwork is taking the wellness world by storm. But what do you do for those clients who cannot actually make it to the mat? Join Pilates Trainer Victoria Cunningham for this workshop to learn how to adapt Pilates Matwork Exercises for clients who need more accessible options.

This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to work in an unsupervised capacity; planning, instructing and evaluating a safe and effective Pilates session.

The purpose of this qualification is to enable learners to develop the knowledge and skills so they can engage, facilitate, educate and support clients in a gym or health club environment. Completing this qualification allows learners to access Gym Instructor jobs. *This Course is completed via Blended Learning (Home Study and Tutorials). *As this is a Practical based qualification you will need to be available to travel to our offices in Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland for practical tutorials and assessments. *This is a Blended Learning qualification that can be started at any time.

The purpose of these qualifications is to enable learners to coach clients – one to one and in small groups – towards their health and fitness goals. Learners will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours to plan and deliver creative and personalised exercise programmes, provide nutritional advice and support clients with their overall lifestyle management. *This Course is completed via Blended Learning (Home Study and Tutorials). *As this is a Practical based qualification you will need to be available to travel to our offices in Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland for practical tutorials and assessments.

This course is aimed at individuals who recruit, manage or supervise staff and volunteers working with children and/or adults. It will examine the procedures that need to be put in place for effective recruitment and selection of staff and volunteers including requirements under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (NI) Order, the current and former definitions of regulated activity and how to exercise careful judgement when assessing information on an Access NI Disclosure Certificate. It will also look at the procedures required for the effective management of staff and volunteers including induction and training, breach of code of behaviour and referral to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This is a face to face training in Newry. This one day certificated training is suitable for Designated and Deputy Designated Officers. It will cover: Knowledge of the legal context of safeguarding children; An understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Designated Officer; Knowledge of Health and Social Care Trust structures and processes; and Exploration of issues and concerns around referrals and sharing information. All participants must have completed a safeguarding children awareness raising course prior to attending. Keeping Children Safe: Training for Staff and Volunteers is a suitable foundation course.

This is a face to face training in Belfast. The Adult Safeguarding Champion role combines responsibility for strategy, operations and oversight for an organisation in relation to adults at risk of harm under “Adult Safeguarding: Prevention and Protection in Partnership” (2015) and the “Adult Safeguarding Operational Procedures” (2016). Some organisations will also have Appointed Persons, with delegated responsibility for day to day adult safeguarding operations. This is a full day’s training for Adult Safeguarding Champions and Appointed Persons.

This is a face to face training in Ballymena. The Adult Safeguarding Champion role combines responsibility for strategy, operations and oversight for an organisation in relation to adults at risk of harm under “Adult Safeguarding: Prevention and Protection in Partnership” (2015) and the “Adult Safeguarding Operational Procedures” (2016). Some organisations will also have Appointed Persons, with delegated responsibility for day to day adult safeguarding operations.

This session will develop the knowledge, skills and abilities of office bearers and trustee members, and help them to understand their roles and responsibilities as chair, secretary and treasurer. It will help them understand the importance of a clear decision-making process and succession planning, and the importance of working in partnership in order to build influence and ensure the voice of volunteers is heard.

This is a face to face training in Omagh. This one day certificated training is suitable for Designated and Deputy Designated Officers. It will cover: Knowledge of the legal context of safeguarding children; An understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Designated Officer; Knowledge of Health and Social Care Trust structures and processes; and Exploration of issues and concerns around referrals and sharing information. All participants must have completed a safeguarding children awareness raising course prior to attending.
