Lisnaskea-based South East Fermanagh Foundation (SEFF) is seeking to recruit a sessional Welfare/Benefits advice worker who will provide Welfare + Benefits Advice via the group’s West Tyrone Gateway service.

Lisnaskea-based South East Fermanagh Foundation (SEFF) is seeking to recruit a sessional Welfare/Benefits advice worker who will provide Welfare + Benefits Advice via the group’s West Tyrone Gateway service for victims/survivors of Terrorism and other Troubles related criminal violence.

Position:

Circa 15 hours of Welfare advice per week

(7.5hrs within SEFF’s West Tyrone Gateway Office, Newtownstewart) - 1 day per week

(7.5hrs outreach support to be offered within partner groups based in Omagh) - 1 day per week

Over the period; 1st August 2018 - 31st March 2019 (which may be extended should further funding be awarded)

Agreement will be reached between the Employer and Provider on the 2 days when the service will run. There may also be a requirement for home visits to be carried out for the benefit of those with access issues with mileage offered @ £0.45p / mile.

The Welfare Officer appointed will also have access to an in-house SEFF Appeals Officer who will be available to call upon in best assisting West Tyrone-based victims/survivors.

 

Requirements of Post:

Applicants must have completed and passed CAB’s Advisor Training Programme (ATP) or be able to demonstrate that they hold a comparable qualification.

Applicants must also have a good knowledge and be competent in dealing with the Social Security Benefits system (including the wholesale changes brought about via the Universal

Credits System and PIP - Personal independence Payment) and have good knowledge and experience of working and dealing with various funds such as; The Police Fund, UDR/R Irish Aftercare, Leopardstown Park Hospital Trust, Rates Collection Agency etc.

The Officer appointed is responsible for costs associated with his/her own insurance, tax and other related contributions and required offline supervision.

The role demands the highest levels of professionalism and observance of SEFF’s strict Confidentiality and Data Protection Policies (inclusive of recent GDPR changes)

The person appointed will receive a full induction including details of monitoring and evaluation requirements within the role. A laptop/Ipad will also be made available to the appointed Officer in support of the role of which they are appointed.
