Volunteer: Group Support Volunteer, Maghera Friendship Group

Alzheimer's Society

Volunteer at our Maghera Friendship Group where people with dementia meet for a cup of tea or coffee to share their journey and have some fun!

Where, when and how often?

Group Support Volunteers in our friendship groups offer a few hours each month to provide companionship for people with dementia in small groups. The Group meets on the first Friday of the month from 1pm - 3pm in Mitchell Hall, Station Road, Maghera.

What will I be doing?

Group Support Volunteers support people living with dementia, this involves companionship for a person in the early stages of dementia in a friendship group, helping them to take part in social and recreational activities.
