Reports to: Head of Service (Homelessness Prevention)

Salary: NJC Points 16-20 (£17,107-£19, 202). A range of additional benefits are also available.

Location: Based in Belfast

Hours of Work: The primary hours of this post are 9am-5pm (35 hours per week). There is a requirement of working evenings and weekends as part of the role. A flex-time system is in operation.

Job Purpose: To work with landlords to develop and maintain a sustainable and Socially Inclusive Tenancy Scheme, as well as administering payments to the Tenancy Deposit Scheme*.

*The Tenancy Deposit Scheme seeks to help underwrite the risk associated with private rentals for those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

 

Essential Criteria

1. GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above (or equivalent qualification).

2. 2 years' experience working in a lettings agent role including attracting new landlords, undertaking viewings and securing tenants through effective sales and marketing.

3. Knowledge and experience of the housing sector and private rental market in the Belfast area.

4. Experience of working in partnership with a range of clients, landlords and other stakeholders.

5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and social media and database applications.

6. Full valid driving licence and access to a car is required to be able to meet the requirements of the post in full.

 

Desirable Criteria

1. Experience working with people who are homeless or other vulnerable at risk groups.

2. Experience of working with one or more of the following:

  • People with mental health issues
  • People with offending histories
  • People with addictions
  • Young people

This post is fixed term until 31st March 2018 with the possibility of extension.
