Stroke Association Support Coordinator - Speech & Language Therapist
Stroke Association
The demand for our services is high and we are keen to recruit an enthusiastic and committed speech and language therapist to join our SLT team; working throughout Northern Ireland.
As part of the SLT stroke pathway this role involves working closely with NHS SLTs in delivering structured SLT group programmes across Northern Ireland to stroke survivors living with aphasia / communication disabilities post stroke. You will be working closely with family carers, and provide training to Stroke Association SLT volunteers who will be supporting you within the group environment. This role also involves working alongside the Stroke Associations Coordinators in ensuring that every possible support is provided to stroke survivors and their families.
Alongside providing structured SLT programmes there is also the opportunity to get involved with additional projects being devised and delivered within the Stroke Association Voluntary Groups, such as the ‘Singing Project’ and working closely with the University of Ulster in delivering programmes such as ‘Experts in Aphasia’.
This role requires an SLT who is creative, innovative and flexible when working within the Stroke Association. You will also need to have good time management skills; be able to work independently as well as within the team and work closely with the SLT manager and senior management team.
This role is home based, please see our homeworking agreement for full details.
You must be able to travel independently to carry out the requirements of the post without relying on public transport.
