Camphill Holywood

Catering & Hospitality
£18096
40.00
Camphill Holywood seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic shop & cafe supervisor who will work in a vegetarian, organic coffee shop alongside staff and volunteers including people with learning disabilities to help ensure a friendly, inclusive community venture.

Camphill Holywood is an integrated urban community that provides work and life opportunities for people with learning disabilities and/or special needs to lead independent, inclusive and meaningful lives within the wider community.

Camphill Holywood’s Mission:

  • To contribute to the creation of opportunities for people with moderate to mild learning disabilities, low care needs and unimpaired mobility, within the overall development of the Camphill Communities of Northern Ireland and throughout the UK and further afield.
  • To provide a supportive environment which will facilitate the attainment of a level of independence appropriate to each individual and within which they can work and socialise without fear or undue risk.
  • To provide work for, and with, volunteers and people with disabilities in a commercial setting.

Camphill Holywood Coffee Shop and Bakery is a homely café in the centre of Holywood. The Shop/Café Supervisor will have a passion for interacting with people, motivating others and for providing excellent customer service.  We are a caring coffee shop, where a young parent can bring their children and find five minutes of peace in a sensitive environment or where a walking group can rest their feet after a trek along our breath-taking coastline.  Six days a week, we offer our customers wholesome, organic food, made with love and care.  Our shop offers a selection of organic and local produce.

Camphill Holywood seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic supervisor who will work together with the community management team, the bakery and kitchen supervisors, our workshop assistants, volunteers and persons with disabilities to build a positive reputation for great quality produce and happy, caring customer service - helping to build our brand based on our values: Healthy, Wholesome & Community.

Plenty of energy and stamina will be important, as will a sharp eye for detail and a positive, proactive approach to getting things done. A team motivator, who is personable and who will provide service with a smile is what we look for.

The right candidate will be reliable, punctual and able to work flexibly, for example in the evenings, when required.   The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day business and staff within the shop/café and for fostering our ethos of inclusion, opportunity and support. They will be someone who can be a welcoming, smiling and personable example to customers and staff, be able to work under pressure and think on your feet to solve problems and create opportunities.
