School Support Worker

Salary:          £13,312.00 per annum, pro rata - point 1 on a 5 point incremental scale

Hours:           32 hours per week 

Contract:       Various Contracts available 

Essential Criteria:

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent * This criterion will be waived where the candidate has at least 12 months relevant experience in an educational/care setting and with the expectation that the NVQ 2 or equivalent qualification will be gained within the first 12 months of service

Basic Numeracy and Literacy (English Language) Skills 

Registered or agreeable to applying for registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council 

At least six months experience in a caring and / or educational support field

Effective communication skills 

Ability to work as part of a team 

Ability to work under pressure 

Desirable Criteria:

Qualification in Health & Social Care, Social Sciences

Experience in education or health / social care setting 

Experience in dealing with challenging behaviour 

Experience of working with individuals with a disability
