Rural Development Officer

Omagh Forum for Rural Associations is a community development umbrella organisation which has been operating across the Omagh area since 1989. We provide a wide range of support to community groups and have recently been awarded a tender to work across the Fermanagh and Omagh Council area.  This post is largely funded by the Department of Agriculture, Environment & Rural Affairs.  The successful applicant will work with and support the development of rural groups across the Fermanagh and Omagh area in conjunction with other community development staff. 

This post is designed to develop and deliver a wide range of initiatives that will increase the capacity of individuals and groups to participate at a local level, interface with statutory agencies and have a direct impact on rural communities in the Fermanagh and Omagh area. Specifically the post deals with three areas: Support for Community Planning; Support for isolated rural people and Support for sustainability of rural villages.
