The Project Officer will provide a range of interventions that will enable individuals engaging in the service to overcome barriers and become more independent.

The Cedar Foundation is seeking to recruit the following:

The Project Officer will provide a range of interventions that will enable individuals

engaging in the service to overcome barriers and become more independent.

 

Hours:               37 Hrs per Week

Contract:           2 ½ years Contract

Location:          Western Health & Social Care Trust (Southern Sector)

Salary:              3-point incremental scale starting on £21,268 per annum pro rata

 

 

Essential Criteria:

  • 3rd level or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline such as Psychology, Education, Community work or Health & Social Care
  • 1 Years paid experience in assessing the needs of individuals with ASD and developing strategies for individuals to enhance their social interaction and independent skills
  • 1 Years paid experience of working with children with ASD
  • Experience in partnership working with carers, parents and family
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the sensory needs of individuals with ASD and how to support them
  • The ability to work as part of a multi – disciplinary team
  • Experience of using standard office IT applications such as Word, Excel, the internet and email
  • Ability to meet travel requirements
  • Available to work evenings and weekends
  • Valid Work Permit, Access NI Check
  • Able to fulfil the Occupational Health requirements for the post
  • Hold a full current driving licence valid for use in the UK and Ireland and have access to a car on appointment.

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Completion of accredited ASD Qualification.
  • Knowledge of communication tools that may be used when working with individuals with ASD
  • Experience of assisting in the delivery of a range of innovative and good practice models for individuals with ASD or vulnerable groups of people.
  • An understanding of behavioural strategies when working with young people with autism
  • Knowledge of relevant organisations and their roles in supporting access to social and community activities
  • Experience of using modern technology to communicate with the client group safely and effectively
