Heroes needed to join our Board

Huntington's Disease Association Northern Ireland

Volunteer Board Members Required

Could you be a HD Hero?

HDANI is excited to invite new volunteers to join its Board of Trustees

Huntington’s Disease Association Northern Ireland provides support to individuals, families and carers living with Huntington's disease in Northern Ireland and also provides information, advice and signposting for health and social care professionals.

We are looking for heroes- in other words, committed enthusiastic people, to complement our existing skill set. No cape required!

We are particularly keen to hear from people with experience of any of the following

  • working within the Health and Social Care field

  • being a company or committee secretary

  • delivering or commissioning the delivery of health and social care services

  • successful fundraising and corporate sponsorship

  • living within a family affected by Huntington's Disease

In return for your time you will

  • expand your professional network
  • gain leadership experience
  • develop new skills
  • have the chance to contribute to the development of a growing charity which is unique in its aims and purpose.
  • receive support and training as well as reimbursement of expenses
  • meet and help some incredible people
  • get a great sense of fulfilment!

The time commitment involves attendance at 2-3 (2hr meetings) meetings in Belfast as well as 2-3 teleconferencing (2hrs) meetings, attendance at our AGM and contributing to our work by email/phone in between sessions.

We are currently seeking up to four people and will appoint on an ongoing basis. We have secured funding for the next three years and are entering a new phase of strategic planning so it's a perfect time to get involved.

To apply for these roles please forward an email outlining what skills and experience you would bring to the board and your interest in joining along with a current CV to Sorcha McPhillips at [email protected] by 5pm on 6th December 2019.

If you have no professional experience and do not have a CV please send an email outlining your interest in joining the board and what qualities, skills and relevant life experience you feel could benefit the charity.
