A fantastic opportunity to join an expanding team at Poleglass Community Association @ Sally Gardens. The organisation has secured ESF funding to progress unemployed including long-term unemployed and economically inactive clients from the Colin Area.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Post:                           

Employment Liaison Officer/Mentor: the position will be until 31st March 2019 with possible extension subject to funding.

Sally Gardens Community Centre

Hours:                        

37.5 hours per week to be worked flexibly to suit demand as set out by the Director. Evening commitment will be necessary for the successful achievement of the post’s objectives.

Job purpose:              

Core to this role is to support local people from unemployment back into the labour market.  By offering 1-1 mentoring and coaching for programme participants to ensure that programme of learning and development and transition into employment is fully guided and supported. In addition, building on our existing links and developing new employer opportunities is also core to this role.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • To recruit unemployed including long-term unemployed and economically inactive clients.
  • To provide mentoring and support each individual person to develop their skills, confidence and motivation.
  • To ensure individuals have the maximum support to improve their employability by supporting them to develop their personal employment and learning pathway.
  • Develop a needs based action plan that reflects the necessary pathway to progression and employment.
  • Provide support in matching career opportunities, CV preparation, assistance with job applications and interview skills. 
  • Complete client assessment and progression plans.
  • To be responsible for job/training interventions in accordance with client assessed needs.
  • To facilitate/source varied and targeted interventions on a client needs basis.
  • Evening commitment will be necessary for the successful achievement of the post’s objectives.
  • To provide support and guidance to participants post progression.
  • Work at all times within the wording and spirit of the policies and procedures set out in the Staff Handbook.

  • To carry out such duties, as may be assigned by the Line Manager/Director, within the level of the post
