Want experience working with children from as young as 6 week to 11 years. We have several opportunities at Wee Chicks. Morning sessions and afternoon sessions available. Currently working in the North Belfast Area.

REPORTS MANAGER AND ASSISTANT

Child care provision providing high standards of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 6 weeks - 11 years old  in a safe and secure environment.

 

Holiday Camp provision providing high standard sports, nutrition & well being opportunities for children between the ages of 4-11 years during holidays.

Creche provision 6 week to 3 years 

After school club age 5 years to 11 years

 

Purpose of Role

 

To ensure that all children attending the setting are kept safe and receive stimulating play experience, appropriate to the age and stage of development.

 

To work effectively as part of a team, showing initiative and creativity

 

To foster an environment where a high standard of care and play opportunities are provided for the children in our care.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Health & Safety

  • Undertake a shared responsibility with the managers & staff towards the health & safety and cleanliness in the unit.

  • Adhere to Health & safety policies

  • Report any risks to the manager at the earliest opportunity

Operational

 

  • Promote the Wee Chick's to current and potential clients

  • Be a flexible and reliable team member, remembering that the unit must operate at a required staffing level at all times.  

  • Understanding that absence at short notice, lateness or being uncooperative is not accepted.

  • Being mindful that each child is an individual.

  • Develop a positive professional relationship with parents, carers and colleagues

  • Assist with the effective supervision of play and activities at all times

  • Be involved with curriculum planning and fundraising events.

  • Assist with the care and maintenance of the equipment and toys ensuring these are tidied away at the end of each setting in an organised manner.

 

General

 

  • To undertake other duties as reasonably required by the line Management.  Adhere to the company policies and procedures at all times.

 

  • Undertake all training that is essential criteria unless indicated.

  • Help to deliver programmes for the children.

 

Previous Experience

 

  • Child Protection and First Aid Training is desired and will be offered on appointment if not held.

  • Good communication skill both verbal and written are necessary.

  • Ability to be an effective team player and to supervise school age children.

  • A willingness to be flexible due to the nature of the company
