We are seeking a Chief Executive Officer based in Ballyclare, N Ireland for our client Blythswood Ireland Ltd (BIL). BIL is a charity based in Northern Ireland which provides loving Christian care for body and soul.

Hours per week: 37.5 to include occasional evening and weekend working as required

Salary: Circa £40K but negotiable - depending on experience and proven track record.

Annual leave: To be confirmed.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for a senior leadership role in a dynamic Christian organisation, which is positively impacting the lives of individuals and communities within and outside N.Ireland.

 

Income generated from items donated to the chain of BIL charity shops is used to support disadvantaged people referred by churches in Northern Ireland and to help international projects bringing hope to thousands.

To enable BIL to achieve sustainable growth so as to ensure more lives and communities are positively impacted by its’ work, BIL’s trustees have an ambitious strategic plan which requires a highly effective CEO to implement successfully.

To meet this exciting challenge you will be someone of proven ability who can …

  • Provide strategic leadership to BIL, ensuring it fulfils its aims and responsibilities in accordance with its Christian ethos.

  • Be an effective ambassador and networker on behalf of BIL in order to help churches to become more closely informed and supportive of its work.

  • Develop and expand BIL’s work, developing new partnerships and ways in which the charity can expand its reach and its impact.

  • Ensure long term sustainability and growth, through effective governance, risk management and continuous improvement of the organisation.

  • Show an ability to work well with a team of staff and volunteers.

     

  • Be an effective communicator with the ability to represent BIL in an engaging and inspiring way.

 

  • Competently and effectively use ICT.

     

  • Be flexible in order to accommodate opportunities to attend conferences and meetings, and in order to visit the different places where BIL works.

It is an occupational requirement that the post-holder personally subscribes to BIL’s Statement of Faith.
