As a diverse and forward-thinking charity, we have one of the largest and most successful fundraising teams in the sector, but it’s essential we further that success and meet challenging fundraising targets to expand our vital work.

Do you have a strategic mindset to take on this leadership role and deliver income, awareness, and profile in line with our UK fundraising strategies and local plans?

What is the role?
As Area Fundraising Manager for Northern Ireland, you will develop and deliver a robust and innovative area action plan in line with our regional and UK fundraising strategies. You will lead and inspire three Fundraising Managers and be responsible for over one hundred volunteers.  Delivery of financial and non-financial targets and building valuable and lasting relationships with supporters, companies, groups, senior volunteers, and the media will be key to your success.

There is substantial cross-organisational working involved as you will look to draw on skills and knowledge available throughout Macmillan.

Who are we looking for?
As our ideal candidate, you will require strong leadership and influencing skills with the capacity to translate our organisational objectives as well as communicate and form key relationships. Whether your experience has been gained in the charity or corporate sector, it’s essential you can demonstrate an impressive track-record of delivering against performance targets, driving activity in line with key plans, leading and performance coaching a team and inspiring volunteers and supporters. These skills are important to ensure we deliver the greatest value from existing relationships and future opportunities.

What can we offer you?
In return for your hard work and impressive results, we commit to actively develop you and offer benefits which include private medical insurance, life assurance, pension, childcare vouchers, generous leave, and interest free loans for season tickets and gym membership.

Macmillan’s Area Fundraising Managers are part of a UK-wide mobile workforce who travels extensively within the defined geographical areas for their role – Northern Ireland, Scotland and across the UK.

You must have a full UK driving licence at the time of application and the work will also require some unsocial and out of hours working. A car or car allowance is provided. There will be a requirement for flexible working to support evening and weekend events: you will be compensated for this with time off in lieu.
