As part of governance, Chief Executives and their Board will be required to sign off an annual Adult Safeguarding Position Report in April 2019, written by their nominated Adult Safeguarding Champion.  ARC NI is supporting a network of 40 organisations and their  Safeguarding Champions to explore implementation of the regional policy and procedure.  An opportunity was identified to support leaders thinking about the part they play.

The aim of this 2 hour session is to explore the governance and accountability implications of “Adult Safeguarding in Northern Ireland: Prevention and Protection in Partnership (2015)” and will include discussion of the various roles and their responsibilities, including of:

  • the Adult Safeguarding Champion (ASC)
  • Non-executive Directors
  • Executive Directors.
