Nexus NI Conference: The future of prevention, protection and prosecution for survivors of sexual violence

Keynote speakers will be:
Nazir AFzal OBE, former Chief Prosecutor with the Crown Prosecution Service in North West England and former Chief Executive of the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners. Nazir has prosecuted some of the most high profile cases in the country and led nationally on several legal topics including violence against women & girls and child sexual abuse. Nazir is also National Adviser on Gender Based Violence to the Welsh Government.
Dr. Helen Beckett, Director of The International Centre: Researching Child Sexual Exploitation, Violence and Trafficking at the University of Bedfordshire, and also Reader in child protection and children's rights. Helen is also a board member of Nexus NI. Helen will speak about the issue of protection for survivors of sexual violence.
Dr Elaine Storkey, a philosopher, writer, broadcaster, sociologist and theologian. Elaine's work has examined the impact of sexual violence against women. Elaine will speak on what is needed to be done across society to prevent sexual violence.
