Monotype Print

This one day workshop has been designed for beginners with a keen interest in Fine Art Printmaking.

You will explore the different methods used to create monotypes while experimenting with a wide range of colours, papers, materials, textures and found objects.

Techniques learnt throughout this workshop can be transferred and applied at home, simply from your own kitchen table should you wish to continue with your printmaking expedition.

All tools and materials provided but students may want to bring a design or image to work from.

About the tutor

Kiera Arnold graduated from Ulster University Belfast in 2010 with a BA (Hons) in Fine and Applied Arts. While studying painting, she cultivated an interest in printmaking techniques and this has been the focus of her practice since.

Following University Kiera was an active member of the Loft Collective Artist group in Belfast and participated in a number of group shows and events including exhibitions for Culture Night Belfast.

Kiera completed a course in Teaching for Higher Education in 2016 and began facilitating community projects. Developing and tailoring inclusive art workshops for a diverse range of people, in some unconventional and challenging settings.

Combining her passion for both art and supporting people, Kiera works with a number of charities who provide help for the hard to reach, marginalised and vulnerable. These charities include the Welcome Organisation (drop in centre for homeless people), Depaul, Stella Morris (assisted living for long term street drinkers) and The Salvation Army (temporary housing for homeless families).

Most recently Kiera has designed and delivered a new, fun and experimental printmaking course at the Crescent. She is continually evolving and enhancing her print courses/workshops to teach and inspire students to create their own unique artwork in an engaging and friendly environment.
