The WELL Project aims to maintain well being and build resilience of women with mental health needs. Through a peer led approach, we provide support and activity programmes to women with long standing mental health needs within greater Belfast.
The organisation has a track record of 5 years of providing peer-led support and activity programmes for women with long standing, serious mental health difficulties, within Belfast. We provide peer-led support groups and varied programmes of activities such as arts and crafts, cookery, gardening, creative writing, and personal development workshops. The WELL Project aims to maintain wellbeing and build resilience of women with mental health difficulties in the community. We are a peer led organisation, managed and facilitated by women who have, themselves, had mental health difficulties. We exist to facilitate the empowerment of women with mental health needs, and assist positive mental health recovery, through a holistic, empathetic approach, in a safe, inclusive, nurturing environment. All participants are encouraged to have active input in planning programmes, contribute to fundraising activities and have the opportunity to volunteer within the organisation. Throughout 2013, the organisation provided support and activity programmes to over 50 women within greater Belfast.
