Shame is one of the most negative and debilitating feelings we experience because it combines other negative emotions, such as anger, fear, sadness, and hate, in a process that serves to reinforce those feelings.

Genograms are useful therapeutic tools as they can help us visualise complex interactions between individuals and to study patterns of behaviours.

Anatomy does not determine gender identity. Rather gender identity refers to the personal sense of an individual’s own gender.

Russian Nesting Dolls allow a client to slowly explore layers of the self-some known and some unknown. The dolls offer a journey for a client to find their authentic real self.

Sunday 9th May 2021 2.30-5.30pm The pressure to be perfect, to design and sculpt our bodies into someone other than ourselves has never been greater. Social media has created the impossibility of being unseen and so fuels the comparison between self and others on a global scale. Explored from a Psychodynamic perspective we will examine the relationship we have with our bodies and how this relationship mirrors our sense of self and is used to measure and determine our self-worth.

This complex and frequently misunderstood condition will be explored from within a Psychodynamic Perspective. This ‘pathological need to be a victim’ will be examined within Object Relations and Attachment theories to shed light on a disorder that can lead to mutilation, amputation and death.
