South Down Family Health Initiative (SDFHI) is a registered charity which was formed in 2004 by local people and health professionals to address the health needs of families and communities in the South Down area.
Using a holistic approach we provide services focusing on physical, social and emotional wellbeing. Located at 4 Great Georges Street, Warrenpoint and The Seashell Centre, 18 Newcastle Street, Kilkeel, SDFHI are able to provide a wide range of services because we involve our local community in all that we do – through volunteering, through consultation and by working together to meet the whole community’s needs. These services include a very successful programme for 2 year olds in Kilkeel, computer classes, fitness classes and cooking programmes.
SDFHI also provide family support, a home work club for children who have English as their second language and a new befriending service for older people in Warrenpoint and Rathfriland.
