Ben Jones has been making films since 1990. He discovered documentary film via stills photography and in 2001 he established Hooptedoodle Films; an independent production company.
Ben directed his  first documentary 'Turning the Tide' (A Millennium Awarded project) in 2003 which was screened on UTV, NVTV and the Community Channel (SKY TV).

Since then Hooptedoodle have produced a number of short documentaries for Channelfour.com and Culturenorthernireland.org,  a 1 hour Documentary; Prods & Pom-Poms (the story of a group of Cheerleaders from Sandy Row, Belfast), screened on UTV in 2009 and previewed at The Belfast Film Festival.
Hooptedoodle recently completed ‘Wannabes’, a two part series for BBC 2 Northern Ireland about the exploits of Belfast girl band Voodoo.
‘Wannabes’ was broadcast in August 2011.
