Who we are:

 Headway Newry Ltd is a local charity set up to give support and information to people with an acquired brain injury, their family and carers living in the Newry and Mourne areas, and outlaying areas of the Southern Health and Social Care Trust.

  • We are led by carers and individuals living with brain injury. Headway Newry was established in February 2008 to offer a range of supports to people with brain injuries, their families and carers from across the Southern Health & Social Care Trust area. 
  • We are affiliated to Headway UK – the brain injury association.  

Mission:

  • To improve the quality of life for people with brain injury, their carers and their families. 

 Vision:

  • Persons living with a brain injury are supported to lead fulfilling and satisfying lifestyles
  • Every carer has opportunities for support and respite care and access to information and advice.
  • The wider public to have an understanding of the challenges faced by people with brain injury and their carers

 

Aims:

  • To provide a greater understanding of brain injury
  • To make a difference to the lives of people with acquired brain injury as well as their families, friends and carers
  • To promote independence, choices, opportunities and social inclusion
  • To deliver services throughout Southern HSCT area
