CATCH delivers one to one counselling five days per week at Cloona Oasis Centre., as well as delivering a range of support and groups and reconciliation services. Through these services we aim to reduce the feelings of powerlessness to those most emotionally and psychologically at risk. We also hope to reduce the suicide/attempted suicide rate in the area by providing a comfortable environment where the uncomfortable issue can be tackled and discussed. The Project provides immediate emotional and practical support to victims of emotional/physical abuse, offering a comfortable environment in which to provide this support and the facilitation of counsellors five days per week. We deliver courses and training in lifeskills, assertiveness etc to promote a well balanced and harmonious community. We aim to empower people with positive attitudes towards living and to increase their autonomy, which will give them the ability to make life improving decisions. CATCH teaches new ways of coping/living with difficult issues, and at times coping with the difficulty of living with each other, therefore activiely promoting positive mental health within the community.
