Placement Partners and Work Experience wanted

Extern Works is an organisation that works with homeless people, refugees and other disadvantaged groups in Northern Ireland and provides education and training to help individuals reach their full potential. We offer the opportunity for individuals to develop their skills in a range of areas, and gain valuable experience and training to prepare them for the world of work.

Our trainees are currently training in a range of areas, including Catering, Warehouse Operations, Joinery, Electrical Installation, I.T, Business Administration and Waste Management. We also offer training in forklifts, pallet trucks, CSR cards, Essential Skills, Manual Handling, Health & Safety and Food Hygiene.

We are currently seeking to develop our list of placement providers, and are keen to build working relationships with employers that feel they would benefit from the voluntary efforts of our trainees. The placements are very flexible, and can be adapted to suit your needs, with no cost to your business.

Other benefits to providing a placement would be:

• Hours and days worked can be flexible to suit the employer
• Trainees may already hold the vocational training needed to work at your site, kitchen or office
• Support will be provided to both the placement provider and the trainee throughout the placement by Extern Works staff
• Your corporate social responsibility is enhanced through support of a local community based charity
