Lough Erne Landscape Partnership - Community Engagement Assistant

Closing date is:
30 Nov 2017
As Lead partner of the Lough Erne Landscape Partnership the RSPB NI are looking for volunteers to engage with the community in Fermanagh to promote this project within its development stage.

The Fermanagh landscape is unmatched in Northern Ireland for the diversity of birds and other wildlife it supports, but this natural capital is under threat.  We need you to communicate the importance of thinking big for wildlife and inspire people to take action in their local area.

Full training and support will be provided by RSPB's Community Engagement  Officer and the Lower Lough Erne team. This is an opportunity for you to gain experience in people engagement, environmental education, events delivery and partnership development

You will need excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable personality. You must be able to work as part of a team but also independently.  Experience of working with young people is necessary.

A good knowledge of your local community (local groups etc) would be an advantage. While you do not have to be a wildlife expert, an enthusiasm for the natural world and an ability to ignite this passion in others are essential.

This opportunity is part of the Lough Erne Landscape Partnership, and will be managed through the RSPB as the lead partner. Travel expenses incurred travelling to and from your place of volunteering can be reclaimed.
