Mencap is the voice of learning disability.  Everything we do is about valuing and supporting people with a learning disability, their families and carers.  The Mencap LiveNet Project are looking for volunteer Peer Mentors to provide support to people with a learning disability to take part in ICT activities.  The role will include showing members how to carry out an activity, play games with them and explain to them and encourage them to try something new.  Also, the volunteer will help to organise games and activities, follow necessary policies and procedures, put away equipment and ensure everyone has a chance to take part in ICT activities at a level they are happy with.  Skill required are a good knowledge of ICT, or a willingness to learn, patience and understanding and enthusiasm and an interest in the project's activities.  Training will be given and an enhanced CRB will be required.
