Mencap is the voice of learning disability.  Everything we do is about valuing and supporting people with a learning disability, their families and carers.  The Mencap LiveNet Project are looking for ICT Buddies to support children and young people with a learning disability to participate in ICT activities.  This will include showing members how to carry out ICT activities, play games with them, explaining how to do something and encourage them to try new things.  Volunteers will help the club leader to organise games and activities, follow club policies and procedures, ie health and safety, help set up and put away equipment and ensure all the children have a chance to take part in activities.  Volunteers will need to attend the club regularly and notify the leader when not able to attend.  Skills required include a good knowledge of ICT, or a willingness to learn, patience, understanding and reliablilty.  Training will be given and an Enhanced CRB will be required.
