To coordinate a small team of volunteers to run information stands, deliver presentations to community groups, care homes and organisations and provide equipment demonstrations to people with hearing loss in your local area.

  • Manage a small team of information volunteers in your local area
  • Coordinate volunteers to run information stands and deliver presentations to community groups, care homes and organisations in your local area
  • Ensure volunteers complete Risk Assessment checklists to ensure venues are suitable
  • Talk to members of the public in a friendly and enthusiastic way to raise awareness of hearing loss and offer appropriate publications/materials
  • Motivate older people who have hearing loss to access the services available and direct any medical or other specific questions to the Regional Information Officer.
  • Sign post to other agencies or services that may be beneficial to the service user, such as other internal Action on Hearing Loss services and the Sensory Support Teams in the Health & Social Care Trusts
  • Ensure data is collected at all information sessions and shared with the Regional Information Officer
  • Promote the work of Action on Hearing Loss
  • Meet Action on Hearing Loss staff and other volunteers to discuss the project and suggest any improvements.
