Youth Works Call for Applications

Youth Works luanches its second call for applications for Delivery Agents to implement further phases of the programme targeting NEET young people from disadvantaged areas in the Belfast, Foyle/East Londonderry, Newry/Armagh & Mourne and Upper Bann areas

Youth Works is an initiative developed by the Department of Education, with the International Fund for Ireland, and managed by the Youth Council for Northern Ireland (YCNI).

Youth Works has been designed specifically to use a Youth Work methodology to engage, on a cross community basis, young people aged 16 and 17 in the ‘Core NEET’ group and support them to gain recognised qualifications that will make a positive difference to their long term employment, education and training prospects.

Following the completion of a pilot programme in northBelfasta call for applications is now being issued for Delivery Agents to implement further Phases of the programme targeting young people from disadvantaged areas in theBelfastarea (east, south & west), the Foyle/East Londonderry area, Newry/Armagh & Mourne area and theUpper Bannarea. The appointment process will take the form of a call for applications from suitably experienced organisations or consortia which will be conducted by YCNI as the Managing Agent.

Information seminars for groups and organisations interested in applying to deliver the Youth Works programme are being planned for weeks beginning Monday 16th and 23rd of April. For details of locations and venues and how to register to attend use the contact addresses and numbers above.

The closing date for the return of completed applications is Wednesday 6th June at 3pm. Applications should be returned in hard copy to the Youth Works Programme Manager, YCNI, Forestview, Purdy’s Lane, Belfast, BT8 7AR.
