Overview of Consumer Law

Monday, 3 April 2017 - 9:30am to 4:00pm

This practical and interactive course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to identify and apply statutory consumer rights and responsibilities. It will provide an overview of relevant consumer legislation, including recent legislation in consumer law introduced in 2015. Participants will be able to identify when consumer rights have been breached, understand options available to clients for redress, and know when and where to refer/signpost clients where appropriate.

Who Should Attend: 

This course is aimed at anyone wishing to develop or improve their knowledge of consumer law. It is useful for all frontline advisers as well as others whose role involves working with consumer law.

Fees: 

There is a charge of £75 to Advice NI Members, £95 to Voluntary and Community Sector organisations and £125 to Private and Statutory Sector organisations.

Education/Professional Framework: 

This course can be used as evidence towards a range of units in our Advice and Guidance NVQ’s including ‘Understand the Importance of Legislation’. It is also linked to the National Occupational Standards for Legal Advisers including ‘Providing Initial Legal Advice in Consumer Law’.
