MAKE A GIANT OF YOURSELF

This summer, Land of Giants - the largest outdoor arts event ever staged in Ireland, will take place in Belfast and organisers are asking people to ‘make GIANTS of themselves’ in order to win free tickets to this epic event.

Land of Giants celebrates the many giants in the shared and diverse history and society of Northern Ireland - including its people as being ‘giant’ in terms of ideas, talent and heritage.

To win the tickets and get to see this amazing show live and for free, entrants must simply take a photograph of someone looking ‘GIANT’ at any well-known landmarks, buildings, beauty spots - whatever the location - (as long as it’s in Northern Ireland) and post it on the official Land of Giants Facebook page, Twitter or send via email to, [email protected].

Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver, the legendary Finn McCool, Harland and Wolff’s iconic Samson and Goliath, the ships the Olympic and Titanic, the Giant’s Causeway - are all referenced throughout the remarkable show due to take place on the 30 June 2012 at the Titanic Slipways in front of an estimated audience of 18,000.

Kathy Hayes, associate producer at Land of Giants said: “Land of Giants will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience so to celebrate all that’s giant about Northern Ireland we’re asking people to ‘Make GIANTS of themselves’.

“All people have to do is take a photograph of themselves or friends using cameras or mobiles, even Instagram, at well-known locations around Northern Ireland looking ‘GIANT’ and post it on our Facebook page, via Twitter or email it to [email protected].

“It’s all a bit of fun but the best pictures posted every week will also receive a free pair of tickets to the most amazing show ever staged in Ireland.”

Belfast Circus School performer Emily Aoibheann, one of 17 other specially trained performers to appear in the show on 30 June, is pictured making a GIANT of herself at the Titanic Building which acts as massive pages of a digital storybook during the 45 minute spectacle.
