Investing in Volunteers hits the Big 50 in Northern Ireland!

4 new Achievers have joined the ranks of Investing in Volunteers Award holders, bringing the total to 50 volunteer-involving organisations in Northern Ireland who have achieved the UK Investing in Volunteers (IiV) Quality Standard for Volunteer Management

Headway Belfast, Carrickfergus YMCA, Laganscape and Holywood Family Trust were recently awarded the Standard by the UK IiV Quality Assurance Panel.

Sandra Adair, Director of Policy and Capacity Building, Volunteer Now, said "I am delighted to announce that 50 organisations have now achieved in Investing in Volunteers award in Northern Ireland.  It demonstrates their commitment to valuing the huge contribution made by volunteers and the importance of ensuring volunteers have a good experience."

Rachel Evans, Project Officer, Headway Belfast said, "IiV is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to volunteers!  It benchmarks Headway Belfast as an organisation dedicated to improving volunteering standards and long-term provides a quality standard for future funding opportunities and volunteer involvement."

Volunteer Now had been funded through The Building Change Trust and the Department for Social Development to provide bursaries to enable a number of these organisations to access the IiV Award.
