Celebrity chef serves up a treat for Ulster Cancer Foundation's Think Pink! Luncheon

Popular TV chef Rosemary Shrager will be serving up a treat as special guest speaker at the Ulster Cancer Foundation’s (UCF) Think Pink! Luncheon at the Europa Hotel in Belfast on Friday 21st October. Tickets on sale now.

    The Think Pink! campaign runs during October, which is breast cancer awareness month, and the luncheon is UCF’s flagship event, helping to raise awareness and funds to support local women with breast cancer.

   Special guest Rosemary Shrager, who is the popular resident chef on ITV1’s Alan Titchmarsh Show, said she was ‘absolutely delighted’ to be able to attend.

   “The fear of breast cancer worries most women, but so much can be done nowadays both to prevent and treat this terrible disease. That message is so important for women everywhere.

   “The Ulster Cancer Foundation provides an excellent and vital service giving advice and support to those who need help. I am very pleased to be invited to speak at this wonderful event and I hope that women of all ages from across Northern Ireland will join us for a fabulous few hours of fun and laughter.

 Breast Cancer is now the most common form of cancer in women inNorthern Irelandwith over 1,000 women diagnosed with the disease each year, but survival rates are steadily improving.  Today, there are around 10,000 women with a diagnosis of breast cancer living inNorthern Ireland.

 UCF’s Think Pink! campaign highlights the help available to women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. These services include UCF support groups, bra and swimwear fitting service in Belfast, L’derry, Dungannon, Newry and Enniskillen; support groups, counselling, art therapy, creative writing, walking groups, Beauty for Life, family support plus an information and support helpline. 

All funds raised from the Think Pink! campaign are spent withinNorthern Irelandto ensure that the charity’s services for women with breast cancer, provided free of charge by UCF, continue.

UCF Head of Appeals and Marketing, Joyce Savage, said: “With Rosemary taking centre stage at our Think Pink! luncheon, it is guaranteed to go with a swing. As well as a chance to enjoy Rosemary’s wit, charm and good advice at first hand, the luncheon is a wonderful opportunity for us to chat with friends, old and new, and raise funds for a cause close to our hearts.  With a decade in broadcasting and teaching, Rosemary Shrager became hugely popular as the host of the prime time ITV1 show Ladette to Lady. As well being a familiar face on the Alan Tichmarsh Show, she regularly appears onGMTVand This Morning. Further afield Rosemary has filmed Ladette to Lady US and Australia. Her latest series, Royal Upstairs Downstairs, aired earlier this year.

 The Think Pink! luncheon starts with a pink champagne reception at 12 noon followed by a two course meal, spot prizes, an entertaining talk from  Rosemary Shrager and a chance to win amazing prizes in a grand raffle.
