"In A Beautiful Place" (Moyle Good Relations Project)

Using photography, world music and film young people in workshops in Ballycastle, Cushendall and Bushmills, explored the division and unity within the cultural canvas in a beautiful place.

In the northernmost corner of County Antrim lies some of the most breathtaking scenery ever known. From the spectacular nine Glens of Antrim to the Giants Causeway world heritage site and the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge; from the rugged coastline of Torr Head and Murlough Bay to the unsurpassed beauty of Rathlin Island. But is this beauty only skin deep? The area welcomes a vast amount of tourists from across the globe representing many cultures that provide a vital income for the Northern Ireland economy. But how far does the welcome extend? Is the land to precious to be shared or are we using religion as an excuse for the division of these amazing landscapes.

The project was facilitated by musicians from Zimbabwe, Uganda, India and Ireland with a special workshop in Ballycastle linking up with a Sri Lankan group, visiting Northern Ireland through a British Council exchange programme.

Audio recordings that were made during the workshops and a slide film of the photography taken by the young people will be hosted online through social media forums.
