Ark Housing Association achieve Silver Award as Investors in People organisation

Ark Housing Association has been awarded the prestigious Investors in People Award. Following an intensive assessment the Association was awarded Silver status as an Investor in People organisation by the Investors in People NI Centre.

Building on their previous assessments Ark Housing was delighted to receive the Silver Status Award, only the 2nd Housing Association in Northern Ireland to achieve this standard.

Tony Ruddy Ark Housing’s Chief Executive commenting on the award said

“Maintaining our IIP recognition is a key business objective for us. We have used the investors in people framework as the business model to develop our business improvement strategies and to gain the Silver Award is a tremendous achievement for us. The significance of this award is even more so whenever you realise that only 1% of recognised organisations across the UK have been successful at this level”

Having been first awarded IIP recognition in 2005, Ark Housing has continued to develop a robust business improvement strategy which was recognised by their IIP Assessor who commented;

 “Ark Housing has continued to make significant progress against its strategic objectives since the last Review. Their people planning and development processes demonstrate a commitment to the Investors in People standard, which they have effectively used to develop their people and set the organisation on a transformational path”

 Adding that

“The organisation has gone beyond the core standard, positioning itself as role model organisation in leadership and management development”

Ark Housing has continued to use the IIP standard across the organisation to ensure that a culture of continuous business improvement remains at the forefront of service delivery. The learning and development programmes, partnership learning and other employee initiatives including for example the development of an organisational Health & Well Being strategy all contribute to the positive culture which exists throughout the organisation.

Tony continued “We recognise that all organisations are facing extremely difficult challenges at present, irrespective of whether as an employee or employer. It is now we respond to these challenges which will make the difference and decide who will remain fit for purpose in the landscape of the future. It is our intention that Ark Housing will be one of the successful organisations to emerge and we remain committed to continuing our improvement journey using the Investors in People framework model”

Concluding Tony stated “I would like to pay tribute to everyone at Ark Housing who has made this achievement possible. Everyone from the Board to all our staff  who have made such a committed contribution to this award and it is only right that we give recognition for their achievement. With such a team effort I am confident that we will continue on our journey to future success”
