36.00

A fixed term studentship opportunity to gain a BSC Community Youth Work degree from University of Ulster with work placement in Streetbeat Youth Project

Streetbeat Youth Project is a modern and dynamic youth project that aims to help support young people through focused groupwork, drop in, schools programmes, employability skills, training, mentoring and counselling.

The Education Authority has provided a studentship opportunity to become a fully qualified Youth Worker, gaining a BSc in Community Youth Work at the University of Ulster, whilst gaining practical experience in Streetbeat Youth Project.  The successful candidate will be based in Streetbeat and have university fees paid by the Education Authority and will also receive a monthly payment to contribute towards other expenses whilst studying.  Attendance at university will likely be expected 1-2 days per week and working sessions will include regular evening, weekend and residential trips.

This will be an intense course which will continue to run over the summer months, therefore, the traditional student holidays will not be offered. This is a fixed term opportunity for 3 years. Full attendance at both the academic and practical elements is expected.  If attendance falls below the minimum 80% level then the Education Authority, University of Ulster and Streetbeat Youth Project reserve the right to terminate the studentship.

If you feel you are right for this opportunity please download, complete and return the application form by midday on 28th April.  Late submissions will not be considered. It is anticipated interviews will take place in early May with a start soon after.
