Streetbeat Youth Project is recruiting a JNC-qualified Youth Outreach Worker to engage young people in the Greater Shankill area who are vulnerable to being drawn into paramilitary activity.

Streetbeat Youth Project is a modern and dynamic youth project that aims to help support young people through focused groupwork, drop in, schools programmes, employability skills, training, mentoring and counselling.

The Youth Outreach Mentor, funded through 'Fresh Start', will work with young people aged 12-25 in the Greater Shankill area who are vulnerable to being drawn into paramilitary activity and crime. The project will focus on helping young people:

  • Engaging in school, employment or training
  • Achieving in school, employment or training
  • Positively engaging in their community
  • Enjoying good mental and emotional health
  • Not becoming involved in risk-taking behaviours specifically around drink and drugs
  • Not becoming involved in anti-social behaviour or crime
  • Enjoying good relationships at home
