JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job Title:                    Youth Development Worker – Full Time

Responsible to:         Management Committee

 

MAIN DUTIES

  1. Coordinate, develop and manage the project in line with the funding criteria, empowering at risk young people, developing their personal and social development.
  1. Focus on the personal and social development of young people using various creative arts and diverse programme methods.
  1. Design, implement and evaluate youth participation projects suitable for very low motivated at risk marginalised young people.
  1. Co-ordinate the programme, part time staff and volunteers to achieve the agreed outcomes.
  1. Facilitate youth leadership development through the youth committee and leaders/peer educators. 
  1. Promote the programme and all youth projects.
  1. Coordinate a volunteer programme which supports the growth of younger/older volunteers, preparing young people with the knowledge and skills for job seeking.
  1. Recruit young people to participate in all youth projects.
  1. Provide and facilitate workshops addressing issues relevant to the programme participants.
  1. Respond to the specific needs of young people as they arise and address matters raised by the young people at weekly meetings.
  1. Develop and coordinate a mentoring scheme for the young people most at risk.
  1. Carry out street work and detached work as required.
  1. Ensure the project outcomes are measured, monitored and evaluated on a regular basis, ensure proper reviewing, evaluation and analysis of evaluation data takes place and findings are recorded and reported to the line manager and Management Committee. 
  1. Ensure the implementation and monitoring of health and safety, risk assessment, incident and accidents reporting systems. 
  1. Submit and discuss with line manager quarterly and annual progress reports which reflect the objectives of the project. 
  1. Manage the programme budget in line with REACT’s financial procedures and funders requirements.

GENERAL DUTIES

1                    To work as an active and integral part of the REACT team 

2                    To work with other staff on issues relating to REACT when appropriate to the effective delivery of the organisation’s strategic plan

3                    To undertake such other duties as shall be reasonably required from time to time
