Lisnaskea-based South East Fermanagh Foundation (SEFF) is seeking to recruit a sessional Welfare/Benefits advice worker who will provide both an in-house and outreach service for victims/survivors of the 'Troubles' covering the 2017-2020 period.

Position:

To provide welfare/benefits advice over 2017/2020) as follows across the following areas:

Year 1 (01/07/2017 - 31/03/2018)

SEFF, Lisnaskea: 400 hrs

MUVE Project, Cookstown: 65 hrs

Out of the Shadows Group, Richhill: 65 hrs

South and East Tyrone Welfare Support Group, Moygashel. Dungannon: 65 hrs

South Down Action for Healing Wounds, Rathfriland: 50 hrs

 

Years 2 and 3 (01/04/2018 - 31/03/2019 and 01/04/2019 - 31/03/2020) Figures below are per annum:

SEFF, Lisnaskea: 550 hrs

MUVE Project, Cookstown: 84 hrs

Out of the Shadows Group, Richhill: 84 hrs

South and East Tyrone Welfare Support Group, Moygashel. Dungannon: 84 hrs

South Down Action for Healing Wounds, Rathfriland: 50 hrs

The service should run on nominated days (to be mutually agreed) at SEFF’s Manderwood base, Lisnaskea and in the partner group offices as listed above. There may also be a requirement for home visits to be carried out for the benefit of those with access issues.

 

Requirements of Post:

Applicants must have completed and passed CAB’s Advisor Training Programme (ATP) or be able to demonstrate that they hold a comparable qualification.

Applicants must also have a good knowledge and be competent in dealing with the Social Security Benefits system (including the wholesale changes brought about via the Universal Credits System and PIP - Personal independence Payment) and have good knowledge and experience of working and dealing with various funds such as; The Police Fund, UDR/R Irish Aftercare, Leopardstown Park Hospital Trust, Rates Collection Agency etc.

The Officer appointed is responsible for costs associated with his/her own insurance, travel, tax and other related contributions and required offline supervision.

The role demands the highest levels of professionalism and observance of SEFF’s strict Confidentiality and Data Protection Policies and Procedures.
