Volunteers

Conway Education Centre

Conway Education Centre is seeking volunteers with a few hours a week to spare, who would like to gain valuable skills and help out at a community based education project.

Conway Education Centre is seeking volunteers!

Family learning/Afterschools project
CEC is looking for volunteers with a sense of humour and patience, old and young, who can give one or two afternoons per week (3pm to 5pm) during term time, to assist our two project workers.

The work would involve support for homework tasks and hands-on involvement with arts and crafts, games, science club, gardening club, and cookery club.

Between 15 and 20 children make their way up to CEC every afternoon to get support for their homework, take their turn on the computers, join in with games, arts and crafts and make new friends.

If you’re a student teacher wanting to get some hands-on work experience, or a retired teacher looking for voluntary work, or you’re interested in working with children and increase their enjoyment for learning, please contact centre manager Pauline Kersten

Teas & coffees, light admin work

Conway Education Centre is urgently looking for a team of volunteers who would like to help out on afternoons or evenings in our small canteen and do some light office admin work.

If you are available for a few hours a week and would like to contribute to the work of the education centre, please contact Centre Manager Pauline Kersten

All volunteers will get their travel expenses covered (plus free tea/coffee!)
