Volunteer mentor Maths and/or English

We are looking for Volunteer mentors English and/or Maths to support adult learners. Commitment will be approx. two hours per week during term time, for one academic year.

Volunteer mentors will work with Essential Skills Maths or English students who require extra support.  This is an ideal opportunity for a retired teacher who would like to give something  back and support and provide mentoring to an adult learner who is returning to education.  This is also an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers, youth workers or support workers who would like to gain invaluable experience and make a real difference.   We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable and proficient in either English or Maths,(preferably with at least a level 3 qualification) who has a very positive attitude, has excellent communication skills, who is flexible, patient and supportive. The commitment would be approx. two hours per week for one academic year. Potential mentors will be asked to complete an Access NI form.
