Volunteer Market Gardener

Camphill Community Glencraig is unique life-sharing community which supports individuals with learning disabilities and complex behaviours. Self sustainability has always been part of the organisations ethos and the development of our market garden is fundamental to this.

Volunteer role : To assist the Market Gardener to develop all aspects of our glasshouses, field crops and orchards to our organically certified market garden supplying the community with fresh produce. 

 Main Tasks Include:

- all year preparation - growing beds 

- seed to plate - journey of food preparation

- involvement in maintaining and supplying seasonal garden produce to the wider Glencraig Community

- seasonal planting, weeding and harvesting

- outdoor working in all weathers

- apple/fruit bush pruning

- apple juice making

- other tasks, depending on the needs of the organisation and the interest of the volunteer
