Training and Outreach Worker

To deliver training, workshops and information sessions to kinship carers, and develop a network of support, including support groups and family recreation for kinship carers and their children.

This position is fixed term for one year at 37.5 hours per week (then subject to funding).

Salary: £20,697 per annum

Based in 55 Rainey Street, Magherafelt but will involve travelling to other parts of Northern Ireland.

  • A relevant recognised qualification in health and social care, community development or related field (Minimum NVQ level II or equivalent).

  • Five GCSEs (minimum) at Grade C or above (or equivalent) including English Language and Maths.

  • At least 2 years experience (out of the last 5) developing and delivering education/training programmes in the community.

  • At least 3 years experience (out of the last 5) working with vulnerable/disadvantaged children/young people and families.

  • Experience of supervising and supporting volunteers.

  • A current driving licence with access to a car. (Can be waived in the case of applicant whose disability prohibits driving, but who is able to organise suitable alternative arrangements).

  • IT skills
