Temporary Trainee Products and Technology Assistant (Trainee Grade Scheme) - Ref 6814

Do you enjoy meeting people? Are you friendly and able to demonstrate and sell products suitable for people with sight problems? If your answer is YES then we would like to hear from you. We are looking for a person to work with the Products and Technology Team in our busy shop in Belfast. You will be demonstrating and selling products suitable for people with sight problems and assisting customers seeking advice and information. You will learn all aspects of our retail operation and will be involved with the promotion of the technology service and other RNIB services. You will need good communication skills, the ability to organise and find information and the potential to work with limited supervision.

This post is part of the RNIB's Trainee Grade Scheme (TGS). The aim of the scheme is to provide unemployed blind and partially sighted people with paid work experience and to support them in progressing into permanent paid employment.

To be eligible for this post, you need to be unemployed and blind or partially sighted. Previous trainees and ex RNIB staff are not expected to apply

The post is for a fixed term contract of 50 weeks, which cannot be renewed or extended. It is expected that trainees will undertake training related to their own development needs, up to a maximum of one day per week.
